La Natividad La Dolfina opened the 2026 Triple Crown with a strong first step in the Hurlingham Open, defeating La Aguada 26-3 at the Asociación Argentina de Polo grounds in Pilar. It was a clear result for the 40-goal team, formed by Camilo “Jeta” Castagnola, Bartolomé “Barto” Castagnola, Adolfo Cambiaso and Poroto Cambiaso, in a match that also introduced something new off the scoreboard: the team’s alternative shirt.

The opening match marked the beginning of a new chapter for La Natividad La Dolfina. On the field, the team showed speed, control and a strong collective rhythm. Off the field, the new shirt brought a different visual language to polo, connecting Argentina, football, team identity and design in a way that feels fresh within the sport.

A new alternative shirt for the Triple Crown

For this first match of the season, La Natividad La Dolfina presented a white long sleeve alternative shirt with green and blue details, combining the colours of both teams in a single design.

The graphic language takes inspiration from Argentina, from traditional decorative prints and from the visual energy of football shirts, especially the kind of national team pieces that carry emotion beyond the game itself. Football is a major reference for the players, who follow the sport closely and share that passion naturally within the team environment.

Rather than copying football, the idea was to bring that feeling into polo in a more subtle way. A polo shirt with movement, detail and identity, but still designed for the field.

Football inspiration, brought into polo

The players’ connection with football is real. Argentina, Messi and the national team are part of the everyday conversation, especially in a group of players who grew up with football as one of the strongest cultural references around them.

This shirt comes from that place. It takes the emotion of Argentine football and translates it into the world of polo through colour, line and detail. The result is not a football shirt and not a traditional polo shirt either. It sits somewhere in between: athletic, graphic and designed for a team that is used to challenging how polo can look.

For La Natividad, clothing has never been just an accessory. It is part of how the team presents itself, how it communicates and how it brings a more contemporary approach into a sport with very established codes.

Designed for cold Argentine season starts

The long sleeve format also responds to a practical reality. The beginning of the Argentine high goal season can be cold, especially during the early matches in Pilar. Long sleeves are not the most common choice in polo, but in this case they made sense both visually and functionally.

The idea was to create something that worked for the conditions while also offering a new silhouette on the field. It is another example of how design can respond to real needs without losing identity.

La Natividad has always looked for ways to question the expected codes of polo clothing, not by breaking them completely, but by adding a new perspective. This alternative shirt is part of that process.

The creative direction behind the shirt

The project was developed by the La Natividad creative team, led by Camila Cambiaso. The idea was to create a shirt that reflected the connection between La Natividad and La Dolfina, while also introducing a more expressive design language for the Triple Crown.

The green and blue details bring together both identities, while the white base keeps the shirt clean and strong on the field. The result is a piece that feels connected to Argentina, to the players’ love of football and to the evolving visual world of La Natividad.

It is a shirt built for competition, but also for storytelling.

A strong opening performance

Beyond the shirt, the first match delivered a clear sporting statement. La Natividad La Dolfina controlled the game from the beginning and built a wide lead across the eight chukkers.

Camilo Castagnola was the top scorer of the match with 11 goals, including penalties and a corner, leading the attack with precision and pace. The team maintained control throughout, closing the match 26-3 against La Aguada.

For a first game of the Triple Crown, it was a strong start. The team showed rhythm, connection and clarity, while also leaving room to keep building across the tournament.
